Tampa Man Wins Rattlesnake Run

Javier Beuzeville, 20, of Tampa, won the 30th annual Rattlesnake Run held Saturday in conjunction with the 42nd annual San Antonio Rattlesnake Festival.

Beuzeville won the 5-mile race with a time of 26 minutes, 25 seconds, followed by Wes Reynolds, 18, of St. Petersburg, 29:48; and Lee Riestsma, 30, of Tampa, 29:38.

A total of 393 finished the 5-mile race. Jacki Wachtel, 29, of Port Richey, was the overall female winner with a time of 29:48. She placed eighth overall.

Dan French, 45, of Brooksville, with a time of 29:38, was the overall male winner in the master age group and sixth overall. Terri Rejimbal, 40, of Tampa, was the overall female in the master age group with a time of 32:02. She finished 21st overall.

Winners in the age divisions are: Jason Mersereau, 13, of Tampa, 37:15, 14 and under male; Tori Larsen, 14, of Dade City, 41:12, 14 and under female; Wes Reynolds, 18, of St. Petersburg, 27.34, 15 to 19 male; Jessica Murray, 15, of Tampa, 38:27, 15 to 19 female; Chris Tamez, 20, of Alexandria, Va., 29:57, 20 to 24 male; Lauren Leffler, 24, of Ormond Beach, 35:52, 20 to 24 female; Gary Robinson Jr., 26, of Valrico, 29:32, 25 to 29 male; Nicole Schramski, 29, of Wesley Chapel, 33:00, 25 to 29 female; Lee Rietsma, 30, of Tampa, 28:36, 30 to 34 female; Monica Carper, 32, of Land O' Lakes, 30 to 34 female; Dave Dawes, 38, of Zephyrhills, 31:00, 35 to 39 male; and Lisa Vaile, 37, of Wesley Chapel, 38:19, 35 to 39 female.

Also, Joe Torzok, 41, of Tampa, 32:31, 40 to 44 male; Beth Scanlan, 41, of Tampa, 37:02, 40 to 44 female; Thom Neal, 49, of Crystal River, 29:51, 45 to 49 male; Lisa Kothe, 48, of Clearwater, 34:45, 45 to 49 female; Ray Eydmann, 51, of Valrico, 32:22, 50 to 54 male; Murph Woehlk, 54, of Tampa, 41:16, 50 to 54 female; Jon Feltham, 58, of Clearwater, 37:03, 55 to 59 female; Lynn Gray, 56, of Tampa, 39:45, 55 to 59 female; Albert Wieringa, 62, of St. Petersburg, 32:32, 60 to 64 male; Bonnie Theall, 63, of Dunedin, 47:45, 60 to 64 female; Duncan Cameron, 65, of Palm Harbor, 33:54, 65 to 69 male; Leah McElroy, 66, of Sarasota, 44:55, 65 to 69 female; Velma Radloff, 70, of Tampa, 1:01:49, 70 to 74 female; Kent Wiley, 76, of Sarasota, 52:55, 75 to 79 male; and Walter White, 83, of Bradenton, 58:35, 80 and over male. White also received the Richard Walsh Memorial Award presented to the oldest finisher.

Christopher Trinadad, 15, of Dade City, was the top finisher in the male division for the 1-mile race. Rebecca Newlon, 11, of Dade City, won the female 1-mile division with a time of 7:25. Ricardo Reyes, 9, and Alberto Reyes, 40, of Tampa, won the 1-mile male child running with an adult team race with a time of 6:29. Alexis Cubillo, 10, and Katie Cubillo, 29, of Spring Hill, won the 1-mile female child running with an adult team race with a time of 8:40. Chris Beaty, 38, of Tampa, and Dempsey won the 1-mile race where the runner competes with his or her dog.
