GAINESVILLE - As a winner of the Heisman Trophy, QB Tim Tebow has a vote in this year's vote for the prestigious award.
While many would expect Tebow to simply vote for himself, the junior is looking in a different direction.
Texas QB Colt McCoy has put up video game-type numbers similar to what Tebow did last year, and he currently has Tebow's endorsement. The junior has thrown 19 touchdowns to just three interceptions and has racked up 1,894 passing yards so far.
He also leads the Longhorns in rushing with 371 yards.
"I don't think there's anybody who's above him right now," Tebow said.
Tebow takes his status as a Heisman voter seriously, which is why he's not simply going to cast a vote for No. 15.
"I think it's cool," Tebow said. "You have a responsibility. To have a vote for the Heisman is a pretty cool deal and something you should do wisely and have a well-educated vote."
STRENGTH ON THE LINE: The lack of pressure on the quarterback was one of the biggest problems for Florida's defense a year ago.
A lack of experience and a lack of depth contributed to the poor play of the line, a problem that has been remedied this year.
"What's different from a year ago is that we have more depth," defensive coordinator Charlie Strong said. "We had a bunch of guys who played last year who just weren't ready and so now if you go hard in practice you're going to get an opportunity to play. We substitute a lot of guys to keep them fresh."
