The Incredible Hulk **½
If you're going for the polar opposite of Ang Lee's artsy take on the comic book franchise, you could do worse than hiring gun-crazy hack Louis Leterrier (of the "Transporter" "movies" "fame"). Fans who felt there wasn't enough smashing in the earlier version will be mollified, assuming they don't mind broody Edward Norton in the title role.
PG-13, 114 minutes
Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed
Deadpan Ben Stein draws more on his earlier credit as a Nixon speechwriter for this pro-intelligent design documentary. With rhetoric worthy of Michael Moore, the "Bueller, Bueller" guy goes so far as to wander through a concentration camp while arguing that proponents of Darwinian evolution could cause another Holocaust.
PG, 90 minutes
The Strangers
This movie may do for isolated vacation homes what "Jaws" did for moonlight ocean dips. A young couple (Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman) plan a romantic night at his family's cabin, only to have their peace disturbed by a trio of masked intruders. The randomness of the crime and the anonymity of its perpetrators make the horror even more intense.
R, 85 minutes
