Have No Fear, Haunted Trail Event Returns

SPRING HILL - If you're looking for Halloween thrills on the cheap, Mike Witherow has your fix.

For the fourth year, Witherow has built an elaborate haunted trail behind his Spring Hill home. The event's reputation for intimate interaction with terrifying creatures drew more than 1,000 visitors last year.

A tour guide will lead groups of six or eight people along a dark path prowled by various ghouls and goblins. A volunteer crew of no less than 40 people will be on hand every night with the sole purpose of scaring visitors.

The cost is $3. Proceeds go to Hernando-Pasco Hospice and the Humane Society of Hernando County.
