TAMPA - Bucs coach Jon Gruden has long been compared to Tony Dungy, his predecessor, but that could end Sunday against Dallas.
Gruden has a 56-52 overall record with the Bucs - 53 regular-season and three postseason wins - and is tied for most wins with Dungy, who was 56-46 from 1996-2001. With his next victory, Gruden will have the most of any coach in franchise history.
"I try not to think too much about those types of things," said Gruden, in his seventh season with the Bucs. "I just feel like I have a great responsibility here. I'm very fortunate to have been surrounded by a lot of great and talented people, and I just want to win the next game. Whether it's 28 games or 33 games you've won in your career, it really doesn't matter. We need to win our sixth game."
Tampa Bay is 5-2 for the third time under Gruden. Since being hired in 2002, Gruden has won three division titles, the most in team history, and led the team to its first Super Bowl championship in his first season.
