THE DIFFERENCE: Eric Lampe ran for 171 yards rushing and scored both touchdowns as Riverview gained its first victory and first district win of the season.
GAME NOTES: Riverview had the first lead of its season on the second possession of the game when Lampe broke through the line and dashed 67 yards for a score. "Coach always says run to the daylight so I ran as fast and as far as I could," Lampe said. "I ran to the back of the end zone to make sure it was a touchdown." ... In the second half, Terrance Carter carried most of the load, rushing for 83 yards in 15 attempts. ... The score easily could have been larger had it not been for two fumbles by the Sharks deep into Sarasota territory. ... Overall Riverview played a stiff defense, sacking Sarasota's quarterback five times; the offense controlled the football, gaining 16 first downs. ...Sarasota committed 12 penalties for 105 yards to aide several Riverview drives. ... In the fourth quarter Sarasota mounted a drive but cornerback Corey Fisher picked off a pass to thwart Sarasota.
STAT OF THE GAME: In the first half, Riverview defense held Sarasota to 2 yards rushing in 12 attempts and 36 yards passing in nine attempts. For the game, Sarasota was limited to 45 yards rushing and 68 yards passing.
