Port Manatee resumed tours today, with 10 a.m. visits at the Manatee County seaport on Mondays and Wednesdays via an open tram.
However, security requirements require one week advance reservations for the one-hour tours.
Date of birth and contact information must be provided for each person, and photo identification is required at check-in.
To make reservations, call Port Manatee at (941) 722-6621.
The tours go through the developed property of the port, with a guide describing the businesses' activities.
The 1,100-acre port hosts Fresh Del Monte Produce Inc.'s second largest U.S. operation.
Tours had been temporarily halted during the summer.
The port is in Palmetto on U.S. 41, about five miles south of Sun City.
