Early Voting Could Be Record

TAMPA - The number of Hillsborough County voters turning out to cast early ballots could be double that of four years ago, local elections officials say. Here's a breakdown of the numbers so far:

54,696

Voters who cast ballots in Hillsborough County from Oct. 20 through Saturday, the first week of early voting

5,844

Voters who cast ballots at the Jimmie B. Keel Library in Carrollwood, making it the most popular of the county's 13 early voting sites

2,813

Voted at West Tampa Regional Library, making it the least popular site

87,000

Estimated number of Hillsborough County residents who voted early in 2004
