TALLAHASSEE - Georgia Tech is No. 9 nationally in rushing and 114th in passing yards.
Those are the kind of numbers expected from a triple-option offense. But FSU defensive coordinator Mickey Andrews appreciates that while it is absolutely essential to stop the run, FSU has another challenge in Yellow Jackets WR Demaryius Thomas.
Thomas has 405 receiving yards and an 18.6 yard average. His 71.9 yards per game is second in the league.
"He is 6-foot-3, 225 pounds and he runs as fast as any defensive back we've got," Andrews said. "We would have to put two of our defensive backs together to be as big as he is."
HONORED: K/P Graham Gano extended his field goal streak to 13 and his ACC specialist of the week honors to two. The FSU senior was joined by DE Everrette Brown in earning ACC honors. Brown was named the defensive lineman of the week.
