Stopping Moreno Key For Gators

GAINESVILLE - The Gators' title hopes were smashed when Georgia RB Knowshon Moreno ran over their defense one year ago.

Florida knows that it cannot afford another loss after losing to Mississippi earlier this season. And the key to winning will be to stop Moreno.

Big plays," defensive line coach Dan McCarney said. "I think he had 190 yards and that's what we have to cut down on from last season. That really hurt our football team."

McCarney knows that shutting down Moreno, who is already closing in on 1,000 yards rushing for the season, isn't possible, but containing him is.

"He's a phenomenal player," McCarney said. "He's just got it all. His durability, his speed, his physical-ness, it will take you about four hours to find one guy who can take him down."

DEMPS HONORED: Jeff Demps was named SEC Special Teams player of the week. Demps blocked and recovered a punt in the first quarter of Saturday's win against Kentucky.
