Farmer's Market Opens In Downtown Tampa Today

TAMPA - Skip that fast-food lunch today and head down to Lykes Gaslight Square for the debut of Tampa's new farmer's market.
Aside from sandwiches and gourmet dishes, the open-air downtown market will feature locally grown fruits and vegetables, arts and crafts and other specialty items.
The Tampa Downtown Market is being organized the Tampa Downtown Partnership, which hopes the event will put more feet on sidewalks in the business district.
The market will be open every Friday from October to May. Event organizers said if the response is good enough, they might expand business hours to include Sundays.
