HOLIDAY - A Florida Highway Patrol trooper conducting a traffic stop on U.S. 19 near Luna Vista Drive stumbled on more than just a speeder early this morning.
When Trooper Mike Hollis approached the 1998 Lexus driven by William Napolitano, 49, at 2 a.m., he noticed what appeared to be a small bag of cocaine on the front seat of the car, according to a report.
Searching further, Hollis discovered a total of 31 grams of cocaine, 2 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, including glass smoking pipes and butane torches, and $13,000, the report states.
Initially, Napolitano was pulled over for driving 61 in 45 mph zone.
Napolitano, of 2057 Sugarbush Drive, Holiday, and his passenger Kimberly A. Lang, 43, 4304 Crestwood Blvd., New Port Richey, were arrested on charges of trafficking cocaine, and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Both were being held at the Land O' Lakes Jail today with bail set at $50,300 each.
