TAMPA - Two Tampa men, both registered sex offenders, were arrested Sunday after being accused of exposing themselves.
In the first incident, Raymond Leroy James, 48, approached two girls, ages 8 and 10, in the parking lot of an apartment complex near 138th Avenue and North 19th Street in Tampa, Hillsborough County sheriff's officials reported.
The girls told investigators he exposed himself and began to masturbate, authorities said. The girls said he tried to talk to them and gave the older girl $5 and a piece of paper with a telephone number on it.
The girls ran to their homes and told adults, who chased the suspect and held him down until deputies arrived. James had abrasions on his arms and a cut to his mouth, deputies said.
James, of 1222 E. 138th Ave., Tampa, denied exposing himself to the girls. He was charged with exposure of sexual organs, lewd and lascivious exhibition and violation of probation. He was in Orient Road Jail on Monday with no bail set.
In a separate incident, deputies accused Shedrick Reshord Jenrette, 30, of exposing himself at Bobalouie's bar, 1913 E. Bearss Ave., Tampa.
Witnesses told authorities Jenrette sat at a table by himself and began to masturbate. When deputies arrived, the suspect became nervous and began to shake, authorities said. Jenrette denied he exposed himself.
Jenrette, of 14511 Hensel Lane No. 129, Tampa, was charged with exposure of sexual organs.
He was in Orient Road Jail on Monday with bail set at $500.
