Manatee Man Accused Of Hitting 5-Year-Old In Face

MANATEE COUNTY - A man is accused of aggravated child abuse after a 5-year-old boy told deputies the man hit him in the face for having an accident in his pants, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office said.

Karim Oualddaba, 34, of the 4500 block of 47th Street West, is the boyfriend of the boy's mother and admitted to pushing the boy's face and knocking him over in the bathroom, according to a report.

Oualddaba and the boy's mother said they did not know how the boy got a mark on his face. The boy first told deputies he did not know how he got the mark on his face and that he came home from school with the injury.

Then, the boy later told deputies that Oualddaba hit him because he defecated in his pants, according to a report. The boy also said his mother ordered him to say Oualddaba did not hit him.
