Lakeland Adoptathon

SPCA Lakeland's Fall Adoptathon will be held at four locations from 11a.m. to 5p.m. Sept. 13. They'll be at PetSmart, 2500 Posner Blvd., Davenport; PetSmart, 11331 Causeway Blvd., Brandon; Petco, 4133 U.S. 98 N., Lakeland; and Pet Harbor, 329 Cypress Gardens Blvd., Winter Haven.

St. Francis Society Animal Rescue is joining the Petsmart Fall Adoption Event from noon to 5 p.m. Sept. 13 at Citrus Park Plaza, 12835 Citrus Plaza Drive, Tampa.

Be An Evacuation Volunteer

Adults who like animals are asked to sign up to help special-needs residents who must evacuate their homes during an emergency such as an approaching hurricane. Pinellas County Animal Services seeks applications for transportation team volunteers, who take pets to other locations during declared emergencies. Call Greg Andrews, operations manager at Pinellas County Animal Services, at (727) 582-2623. Helpers must complete training.
