Manatee Bicyclist Hit By Shots From Passing Car

Leroy Anderson Jr. was on a bicycle in Palmetto today when a man pulled up in a Chevrolet Camaro and fired four to six shots, hitting Anderson in the left leg, Manatee County deputies say.
The shooting occurred about 12:30 p.m. at 17th Street and 2nd Avenue West.
Anderson ran to the parking lot of Grovers in Palmetto, and a pedestrian in the parking lot there called 911, deputies say.
No suspects were found.
Anderson had non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Manatee Memorial Hospital, according to deputies.
