TAMPA - Two men were arrested Wednesday after a burglary scare led to lockdowns at Burnett Middle and McDonald Elementary schools in Seffner, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. The schools were locked down Wednesday after someone was found burglarizing a shed at 2382 Kingsway Road about 8 a.m., sheriff's spokeswoman Debbie Carter said.
No one was hurt, and the lockdowns were lifted about 10 a.m.
By 2:30 p.m., authorities had arrested Elias Contreras Montejano, 32, who was hiding in a nearby field, and Enrique Contreras, 24, who was hiding behind a tree at 6215 Muck Pond Road, Carter said.
Both men were being held at Orient Road Jail on charges of burglary of a structure and resisting arrest without violence.
