While recipes can be tweaked to better fit your individual tastes, ingredients can be changed to give dishes a healthier twist. Want to cut fat out of your diet? Try replacing vegetable oil with applesauce. Dried fruits are a tasty alternative to chocolate chips, and try whole-wheat bread and brown rice in place of the white versions.
Check out our community cookbook to search for ingredients and find guidelines to help you make healthier recipe choices, but we also want to hear from you. Submit your tips for healthier cooking below, and help others get ideas on how to add taste while cutting fat, calories and sodium from their diets.
And if you'd like to share a recipe, submit it to our recipes database.
