TAMPA - That sound you heard Thursday night was the collective squeal of the sold-out crowd at the Ford Amphitheatre for teen sensations the Jonas Brothers.
"Camp Rock" co-star Demi Lovato and Aussie pop duo The Veronicas opened for real-life brothers Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas, whose "Burning Up" summer tour has attracted more than 1 million fans in 47 cities.
Before the brothers hit the stage in Tampa, they spent their down time poolside at Saddlebrook Resort in Wesley Chapel. While there they built, manned and raced cardboard boats. Joe with his Pool Master 5000 was the winner, and Nick ended up in the drink.
Once arriving at the Amp, hundreds of "super" fans were treated to the band's sound check but made it difficult to hear anything with their raucous and constant vocal admiration.
