THE DIFFERENCE: Down by one point with just under six minutes to play in the game, Freedom recovered a Wharton fumble on the Wildcats' 28-yard line and marched for the game-winning score to give the Patriots a win.
GAME NOTES: The first quarter was all Wildcats after a 1-yard Malik Williams touchdown and a field goal gave Wharton a 10-0 lead. … Freedom scored 17 unanswered points in the second period. The first came on a blocked Wildcat punt that went out of the end zone for a safety. The ensuing free kick was returned 65 yards for the Patriots' first touchdown. … An interception set up the Patriots' next score as sophomore QB Josh Grady punched it in from a yard away. … Wharton retook the lead when Renaldo Gordon recovered a fumble in the Patriots' end zone that gave the Wildcats a 24–17 lead.
