THE DIFFERENCE: Tampa Bay Tech's backfield was too fast and too big for the outmanned defense of Bloomingdale, running at will. The offense was stopped only twice on drives and one of those resulted in a TD. The punt return was fumbled at the goal line and Leon Robinson fell on the ball for a TD. Cornerback D.D. Johnson intercepted two passes and ran both back, one from 43 yards, the other 60 yards.
GAME NOTES: Bloomingdale's fourth play was tipped and intercepted by Johnson for the first score. Tampa Bay Tech quarterback Angel Rodriguez ran for 107 yards on 11 carries. Charles Waits carried three times for 46 yards and Maurice Hagens had 66 yards. Bloomingdale's Eugene Perry fired a pass to Jordan Frye for the team's only score as time expired.
STAT OF THE GAME: Johnson's two interceptions for 103 yards and two TDs.
QUOTE OF THE GAME: "The biggest problem is we don't have speed on the practice field to practice against. That is how they got us. I am not making excuses, though. We are better than that." - Bloomingdale coach Jason Stokes
