Hillsborough County sheriff's deputies are asking the public for help in identifying a man hit by a car this morning in Dover.
A vehicle driven by Marcos Alfonzo Ramirez, 21, struck the man about 2:20 a.m. near Bethlehem and Haynes roads, the sheriff's office said. The pedestrian was taken by medical helicopter to Tampa General Hospital, where he is listed in serious but stable condition.
The pedestrian had no identification on him, deputies said. He is described as a Hispanic male, between 20 and 30 years old, about 5 feet tall and 130 pounds. He has a shaved head, light mustache and goatee. He was wearing bluejeans with a gray/white button-down shirt.
Ramirez left the scene of the crash but was later arrested at his home, 3841 Bethlehem Road, No. 9, deputies said. He is charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving serious injury and driving without a valid driver's license with serious injury. He is being held today on $4,000 bail at Orient Road Jail.
Anyone with information can call the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office at (813) 247-8200.
