Manatee County sheriff's deputies are looking for a Mississippi man who they say is connected to the disappearance Sunday of a Port Charlotte woman.
Amalia Laeticia Oseguera, 23, was last seen Sunday afternoon at the Midway Flea Market, 10816 U.S. 41 N., Palmetto, the sheriff's office said. Oseguera and her family travel from Port Charlotte to the flea market every Sunday to run a booth, authorities said.
On Sunday afternoon, family members could not find Oseguera and looked for her. Oseguera's brother, George Diaz Jr., told deputies that he saw his sister being forced into the backseat of a sport utility vehicle driven by a man named Wilmer Ordonez about 1:15 p.m. Sunday.
Ordonez is Oseguera's occasional boyfriend, the sheriff's office said. The SUV then headed north on U.S. 41. Ordonez, who is about 20 years old, has been living with relatives in Tupelo, Miss., for about three years, the sheriff's office said.
Anyone with information can call the Manatee County Sheriff's Office at (941) 747-3011 or Crime Stoppers at 1-866-634-TIPS.
