Woman Found Dead In Her North Florida Avenue Apartment

TAMPA - Tampa Police Department homicide detectives are investigating the death of a woman found in the bathtub of her apartment on North Florida Avenue.
Police said the 53-year-old woman's boyfriend found the body about 9:40 a.m. Sunday.
The death has residents of the J.L. Young Apartments frightened and shaken.
"You never think that would happen," said resident William Davis.
Police described the apartment as an assisted living facility.
A new manager is making improvements in security, said Shelia Cuckerman who has lived there 14 years.
"Now I'm going to be afraid to walk home," she said.
The victim appeared to have been beaten and the injuries were worse than from a fall in the tub, police said.
The woman's identity has not been released because family members have not been notified, police said.
