TALLAHASSEE - After the Seminoles' 69-0 victory against Western Carolina, coaches believe a better test awaits the team this week, even though their opponent, Chattanooga, opened the season with a 57-2 loss to Oklahoma.
"They didn't do much against Oklahoma - but not many people do," Florida State defensive coordinator Mickey Andrews said. "They looked a whole lot different when they played last week against Cumberland."
Chattanooga defeated Cumberland 47-6.
"They are just a little bit better football team," offensive coordinator Jimbo Fisher said. The Mocs lead the Southern Conference with four interceptions in two games, for example.
"They just seem a step quicker, a step faster. It's another good step in the direction we're trying to go."
ON THE MEND: There is good reason for Graham Gano to be kicking a volleyball. It is part of his rehabilitation as the all-purpose FSU kicker readies himself for a return from minor knee surgery. Gano tore cartilage in his right knee on Aug. 18.
