TAMPA - Police have arrested a second suspect in Sunday's robbery and police pursuit in which an Orlando woman died.

Tampa police traveled to Orlando on Monday to arrest Andrew Chukes, 26, of Orlando on a felony charge of armed robbery, among other offenses. He was being held at the Orange County Jail today pending his return to Tampa, records show.

Detectives said Chukes is the boyfriend of Angela T. Rodney, 36, of Orlando, who died Sunday after Chukes, Rodney and Rodney's 17-year-old son robbed a man and crashed their car during a police chase.

Detectives said the three robbed a man at gunpoint about 10:14 p.m. Sunday at 2601 W. Kennedy Blvd. The victim called 911, and within about 10 minutes, an officer spotted the suspects' car, a rented 2008 Chevrolet Impala, near Lois Avenue and Interstate 275.

The Impala would not stop and headed south on Interstate 275, where the suspects threw the victim's wallet and a short-barreled shotgun out the window, police said. The Tampa officer pursued the car until the Interstate 375 exit in St. Petersburg.

A police helicopter saw the Impala crash into a utility pole at Fourth Avenue North and First Street Northeast in St. Petersburg, police said.

Angela Rodney, who was riding in the back seat, was pronounced dead at Bayfront Medical Center.

Chukes and Rodney's son, Junior Hasseltine Rodney, ran from the crash.

Rodney was arrested a short distance from the crash scene. Police said he faces charges of vehicular homicide, leaving the scene of a crash involving death and armed robbery.
