"World's Best Places to Pig Out," 11 p.m. Thursday, Travel Channel

All manner of culinary gluttony is explored here, from the Big Texan Steak Ranch in Amarillo, where a 41/2-pound steak eaten in less than an hour is free, to Beth's Cafe in Seattle, home of the 12-egg omelet. .

"How It's Made," 11:30 a.m. Saturday,

Science Channel

Trying to steal a little pre-game collegiate mojo, the show explores how football-related paraphernalia is produced. In the lineup: footballs, mascot costumes and helmets, Oh, and beer.

"Bizarre Foods With Andrew Zimmern," 10 p.m. Tuesday, Travel Channel

Zimmern picks up the baton with his show now that Anthony Bourdain's series is ended for the season. In this episode, Zimmern travels to Sicily, where he hits the high seas of the Mediterranean with a fisherman and then enjoys a seafood lunch and a snack of dried salted tuna sperm. Going out on a limb, we're guessing it does not taste just like chicken.
