HUDSON - Much of Tuesday's pawnshop armed robbery in Pasco County was captured on video surveillance, sheriff's officials announced today, and they're hoping the public can help.
Three men - two of them seen carrying handguns - walked into A Superior Pawn, 12101 State Road 52, about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, tied up the clerk and stole cash and gold jewelry.
During the robbery, which lasted about 25 minutes, the men held four customers at gunpoint and robbed them of cash and personal items, deputies said. Also, a male customer was forced to go to his car in the parking lot and get a woman who was waiting in the vehicle and bring her into the store, deputies said.
Nobody was seriously injured.
Two of the men spoke only Spanish during the robbery, sheriff's officials said; a man who wore a hat was the only one who spoke English and appeared to be the trio's leader.
In the video, sheriff's officials said, the men appear "calm and collected." One of the men acted as a lookout, deputies said.
The men left in a customers' vehicles - a white Kia Sportage - and drove to a Winn-Dixie at Moon Lake Road and State Road 52.
The video will be released today. Anyone with information should call the sheriff's office at (727) 844-7711 or Detective Charles Troy at 1-800-854-2862, ext. 7209.
