Eagle 8 Helicopter Makes Emergency Landing In St. Pete

ST. PETERSBURG - Eagle 8, the helicopter used by News Channel 8, made an emergency landing in St. Petersburg about noon today because of hydraulic problems.

The aircraft, a six-seat American Eurocopter AS350, is being repaired at Albert Whitted Airportin downtown St. Petersburg.

Pilot/reporter Judd Chapin and photographer Cliff McBride were on an assignment in Tierra Verde when Chapin noticed a warning light come on indicating hydraulic problems.

He made what he described as an uneventful landing at the airport.
