TAMPA - At least three recent armed robberies of Hillsborough County businesses likely were committed by the same people, deputies say.
Similar robberies are being investigated by Tampa police, a Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office news release states.
Hillsborough deputies say there were two to three men 18 to 25 years old who were wearing dark clothes and armed with a handgun. The robbers approached the victims – all of whom were Asian – at gunpoint as the victims were arriving home after leaving the businesses, deputies say.
The robbers may have traveled in a small red car.
One robbery occurred at 11:35 p.m. Aug. 5 at 7403 Sade St. in Tampa. The business connected to that robbery is Golden Phoenix, 8199 N. Dale Mabry Highway.
Another robbery occurred at 9:30 p.m. Aug. 12 at 4307 Hawks Nest Drive, Lutz. The business connected to that robbery is Oriental Market, 4025 W. Waters Ave., Tampa.
A third robbery occurred at 8:40 p.m. Aug. 30 at 14908 Evershine Drive near Northdale. The business connected to that robbery is Dinh Ho Market, 8502 N. Armenia Ave.
