Got sticker shock at the checkout counter?
These days food prices are rising faster than the cost of gasoline. But while you can drive less or carpool to save a few bucks on gas, the same can't be said for food. In fact, eating less – or less healthful – can be disastrous for your health.
Everyone, from growing families to seniors on a budget, are being forced to make decisions that affect the quantity and quality of the foods being served in the home.
Some are saving money by selecting filling, but less-nutritious foods.
We want to hear how you're coping with the rising cost of food, and how it's affecting the choices you make at the grocery store. Contact reporter Mary Shedden at (813) 259-7365 or e-mail mshedden@tampatrib.com
