And so it begins. The presidential campaigning season is here and, unfortunately, the ads that are running are all the same. It seems that instead of the candidates telling the public what they want to accomplish, they run their campaigns on smearing their opponents. I want to know what platforms they want to run on, not what their opponents failed to do.
This country is in a dilemma with soaring fuel prices, taxes and unemployment. If political candidates want people to come out and vote and put an end to voter apathy, they need to step up to the plate and tell us what they can do for us. I believe this practice keeps many potential voters away from the voting booth.
I find the continuing practice of smear tactics repulsive and disgusting and urge all political hopefuls to rethink the way they conduct their campaigns.
