THE DIFFERENCE: With sloppy play by both teams, the Jefferson defense recovered two fumbles, intercepted four passes and racked up three sacks against Robinson as the Dragons got their first victory of the season.
GAME NOTES: Jefferson set the tone early when running back Marcus Johnson ran the opening kickoff 80 yards to give the Dragons a 6-0 advantage. … Jefferson quarterback Quentin Williams completed five of 19 passes for 77 yards, including two touchdown strikes (30,10) and a 5-yard run for another score. He also had a two-point conversion pass to receiver Fred Overstreet. … Jefferson receiver Andre Davis was on the other end of both touchdown passes from Williams. … Dragons running back Terence Doston also had a big night, with 11 carries for 62 yards. … Robinson moved into the red zone twice in the third quarter, but the Dragons defense thwarted it each time with interceptions by Overstreet and Kyle Holloman. … Robinson quarterback Ruben Gonzalez finished the night 7-of-15 for 75 yards and one touchdown, although he was picked off four times.
STAT OF THE GAME: Penalties were abundant for both teams. Jefferson had six for 65 yards, while Robinson had five for 35.
