Largo Police Cruiser Hits, Injures 17-Year-Old Bicyclist

A 17-year-old bicyclist was struck by a Largo police cruiser today while crossing Highland Avenue just north of East Bay Drive, a police official said.

A squad car struck a bicyclist this afternoon in Largo, police said.
About 2:15 p.m., the bike was crossing between traffic on Highland Avenue just north of East Bay Drive when it was struck, Largo Police Department spokesman Mike Loux said.
The 17-year-old male bicyclist was taken to a hospital for treatment of a leg fracture, Loux said. The officer was not hurt.
