NEW PORT RICHEY - Acting on tips, Pasco County sheriff's vice and narcotics detectives discovered a marijuana crop in a backyard after flying over the property this week.
Undercover detectives received tips that Louis J. Chrissikos was growing plants in his yard and heard that he was bragging on the Internet about his grow operation and showing off photographs of the plants, sheriff's officials said.
Detectives learned where Chrissikos, 46, lived and on Tuesday spotted the plants, a report states. They knocked on his door at 6504 Ridge Top Drive, and Chrissikos allowed the detectives inside to conduct a search.
The detectives seized 183 marijuana plants, more than 2 pounds of marijuana, one shotgun and a .38-caliber revolver with the serial number filed off, according to the report.
Chrissikos was arrested on charges of marijuana cultivation and felony possession of marijuana.
He was released from the Land O' Lakes Jail after posting $10,000 bail.
Additional charges are pending, according to officials, for a felon in possession of a firearm and for having a weapon with an altered serial number.
