THE DIFFERENCE: Lennard (1-1) scored 21 unanswered points after Sickles (0-2) jumped to a 14-0 lead. The Longhorns' defense kept the Gryphons' ensuing drives short while the offense scored touchdowns on three consecutive drives.
GAME NOTES: Senior wide receiver Brandon Stephens caught a 44-yard touchdown from quarterback Andrew Burdick to start Lennard's comeback, and ran another one in from 5 yards out to put the Longhorns ahead. ... Blake Kennedy made a diving touchdown catch on a pass from Burdick that tied the game in the second quarter. ... Lennard ran eight minutes off the clock in the fourth quarter with a 17-play drive that started at its own 6-yard line and ended with a missed field goal. ... Burdick had 263 yards from scrimmage (187 passing, 76 rushing). ... Sickles scored first on a 1-yard pass from quarterback Cullen O'Brien to Chris Nahat. ...
