THE DIFFERENCE: Spoto quarterback Jamaurice Burgess connected on four of five passes for 78 yards, and the Spartans defense recovered a bad punt snap on the Bulls' 5-yard line with one minute left in the first half to build an insurmountable lead before the break.

GAME NOTES: Speedy Spoto running back Tim Randolph ran for 147 yards on 14 carries in his first game, scoring on a 67-yard run in the second quarter and gaining 34 yards on another run. ... Statistically, the game seemed even, with Spoto running for 176 yards to Bloomingdale's 160. The Spartans passed for 78 yards and the Bulls had 77. However, Spoto made big plays while Bloomingdale gained most of its yards on a last-minute drive that led to its second touchdown. ... Spoto receiver Tyrone Baker caught two passes for 52 yards, and Donald Smith caught one for 30. ... Bloomingdale running back Derek Johnson ran for 95 yards on 10 carries, and Anthony Amos had 67 yards on 13.

STAT OF THE GAME: Spoto controlled the game despite committing 13 penalties.
