I can handle the truth! The push for the November election brings commercial after commercial.

When it became clear that it was going to be senators Obama and McCain, I had high hopes that we would have a positive, issue-oriented run-up to the election. That they would be gentlemen and instruct their staffs to act accordingly in their commercials and their appearances, trusting the American people to be able to judge them according to their merits, abilities, how they presented themselves and if we believed they could lead this country out of the current financial and military crisis. Instead, both camps quickly went to the same tired formula of negative attack ads.

Here's a thought: If you want to be president, maybe you need to act presidential first. Don't tell us why he shouldn't be president; explain why you should.
