As a possible sign the season is changing, a cool front may arrive about the middle of the week and drop afternoon high temperatures below the typical low 90s.
The temperature shift won't be major, but cool fronts in the late summer normally have little impact on temperatures.
The National Weather Service says from Thursday through Saturday the afternoon high temperatures should be in the middle or possibly high 80s, though morning low temperatures aren't likely to drop.
Until then, high pressure over the state will mean warm and dry weather with humidity increasing slightly each day along with the chance for rain, the weather service says.
