The Rays showed great resolve and resilience in taking two of three against the Red Sox last week at Fenway Park after being shut out in the opener, winning a series in Boston for the first time since 1999.

Starting tonight, the clubs do it again, this time in St. Petersburg and with the ramifications even larger in the AL East race.

The Rays have been dominant at home, winning 53 of 74 as they close in on their first trip to the postseason.

A look inside the numbers:

Cliff Floyd's team-leading batting average at the Trop, where he's hit eight of his 10 home runs.

Scott Kazmir's ERA in 12 starts at the Trop heading into tonight's matchup against Daisuke Matsuzaka.

The Rays' record against the Red Sox at the Trop, where they've outscored Boston 25-16.

The Rays' series record at the Trop; they've lost only three series at home since the start of May.

The Rays' record at the Trop against the Angels, Red Sox and White Sox, all likely AL playoff teams.

Three-game sweeps for the Rays at the Trop, including the Red Sox (twice), Angels and Cubs.
