Two women were struck by a car this morning on 49th Street, moments after they got off a Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority bus, police said.
The two, Dallas Tracy, 20, and Terri Santiago, 48, both of St. Petersburg, were expected to survive, said Capt. Sanfield Forseth of the Pinellas Park Police Department.
At 8:30 a.m., the two got off a PSTA bus in the 8800 block of 49th Street, Forseth said. A group ahead of them safely crossed 49th Street, but Tracy and Santiago didn't make it, Forseth said.
They were struck by a 2007 Dodge Charger just before reaching the median, Forseth said. Tracy's pelvis was broken, and Santiago had abrasions on her stomach, Forseth said.
The driver of the Charger, Jason Montoya, 23, of Pinellas Park, will not be charged, Forseth said.
