TAMPA - A Hillsborough County detention deputy has arrested and charged with misdemeanor driving under the influence, records show.
Marcos A. Perdomo, 40, was held at the Orient Road Jail this morning on $500 bail. He has been employed with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office since January, records show.
Tampa police arrested Perdomo about 2:06 a.m. today at Bruce B. Downs Boulevard near Tampa Palms Boulevard. According to a preliminary report, officers pulled over Perdomo's 1997 Ford sport-utility vehicle after it drifted across lane lines several times. The vehicle was traveling about 60 mph in a zone with a posted speed limit of 45 mph, the report states.
Perdomo showed impairment during field sobriety exercises; he also had glassy eyes, slurred speech and a strong odor of alcohol on his breath, the report states.
He refused a breath-alcohol test, the report states.
