Tampa Police: Woman Slugged Girl, Charged With Abuse

TAMPA - A 34-year-old South Tampa woman punched a teenager on the mouth and scratched the girl's neck several times, according to the Tampa Police Department.
The girl had a busted upper lip but declined medical treatment, police said.
Officers arrested Brenda Serra, 34, about 5:15 p.m. Monday.
She was charged with child abuse.
Serra is on felony probation, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office Jail Web site. She remained in Orient Road Jail today, and no bail had been set.
