TALLAHASSEE - D'Vontrey Richardson does indeed have the longest run by a Florida State quarterback in school history.
It was uncovered last week that Lee Corso had a 60-yard run in 1956. But it was a 60-yard punt return that Corso, now a football analyst with ESPN, had pulled off to set up a touchdown against North Carolina State. So that makes Richardson's 55-yard TD run on Saturday the longest rushing TD for an FSU quarterback from the line of scrimmage.
HERE'S THE KICKER: Graham Gano labeled his availability for the Wake Forest game as "probably unlikely," but coaches have not ruled him out when it comes to kicking short-range field goals and extra points on Saturday. If Gano can't handle limited place-kicking duties this week, then it would come down to either Zach Hobby or James Esco.
NO X-FACTOR THIS TIME: Xavier Lee, who started at quarterback in FSU's consecutive losses to Wake Forest, has landed on the Calgary Stampeders' practice squad at quarterback.
This is the third position that Lee has played in recent months, beginning at tight end and trying to make the Baltimore Ravens' roster. Released during the NFL training camp, Lee briefly played wide receiver for the Southern New Hampshire Beavers, a semipro team.
Lee departed from FSU after his junior season.
