PUSHING DAISIES - THE FIRST SEASON
This macabre comedy was the lavishly imagined prestige offering last TV season, with a stellar cast, elaborate art design and high-toned voiceover by stage legend Jim Dale. Lee Pace stars as Ned, a pie-maker who moonlights as a detective thanks to his ability to bring the dead back to life with a single touch. But the second touch kills them again.

CHUCK - THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON
If Sydney Bristow had married Marshall Flinkman, "Alias" would have been a very different series - but their kid might have turned out like Chuck, a computer nerd who gets sucked into the world of espionage when he accidentally downloads all sorts of top-secret information. Yvonne Strahovski is the sexy spy who works with Chuck in his new double life.

MADE OF HONOR *½
If blandly handsome is your thing - and legions of screaming McDreamy fans suggest this is a common predilection - you may enjoy watching Patrick Dempsey pose his way through this romantic comedy, in which the far livelier Michelle Monaghan plays the platonic best friend who only becomes The One after getting engaged to another guy.
PG-13, 101 minutes
YOUNG@HEART
From Don Argott, the director of the 2005 documentary "Rock School," comes another cross-generational tale about the unifying power of music. Only this time, it's not children being schooled in rock 'n' roll but their grandparents, who as part of the Young at Heart chorus learn a repertoire that includes Sonic Youth, Coldplay and The Clash.

Al Pacino is a forensic psychiatrist (does this mean he counsels troubled physical evidence?) who helps convict a serial killer, only to find, after the killer is locked up, that people near him are being murdered in similar ways but with the evidence now pointing at him. And then he gets a phone call telling him he has 88 minutes to live. All in all, a bad day.

THE LOVE GURU *½
Come on, you know you're curious. Could it really be as bad as everyone said? Will it be improved by open mockery and strong beverages? These and other questions can now be answered on the cheap by the DVD release of this Mike Myers vehicle, in which he plays a would-be Deepak Chopra whose mantra is "Mariska Hargitay." Are you laughing yet?
PG-13, 88 minutes
