TAMPA - Take a pinch of "New York Fashion Week," a smidgeon of "America's Next Top Model," and a touch of "Project Runway," throw in some sunshine, a pair of flip-flops and a guayabera, and what do you have? Tampa Bay's very own Fashion Week.
The inaugural event saunters into the Bay area Wednesday through Saturday, showcasing local designers and their creations. Events will be held at various locations in the Bay area.
"It's going to be an exciting event showcasing some of the best fashion design talent in the southeast region," said Nancy Vaughn, executive producer. "This event will help to establish the fashion landscape in the Bay area and give people a stylish, high-quality event, while focusing on giving back to our communities. We want to attract fashion designers, models, regional buyers and boutique owners to experience Tampa Bay's style."
The event will feature more than a dozen designers, including Ivanka Ska, Essence Flowers, Francisco Azucar, Bebe Ziegler, Sam Varela, Trineice Cagua, Robert Buck and Audrey "Pat" McGhee. They'll be showing it all, from evening and casual wear, to bridal and swimwear, and everything in between.
The event benefits Best Buddies of Tampa and the YWCA of Tampa Bay.
