A mother and her 13-year-old twins were hospitalized after a car crash Wednesday night in Dunedin.
The crash happened just before 8:30 p.m. on Main Street, just west of Virginia Street, as the driver of a Chevrolet Cavalier was making a left-hand turn into the Westfield Commons shopping center, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office said.
As the Cavalier's driver, Margarita D. Hall, 50, of Dunedin, attempted to cross three lanes of Main Street to reach the shopping center, she was struck in the passenger side rear door by a Jeep Cherokee, driven by Kristen Rae Gonzalez, who was traveling east on Main Street, deputies said.
Hall's daughter, Natalia, was airlifted to Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg with what deputies said were life-threatening injuries. An ambulance took Hall and her son, Ethan, to Bayfront Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, deputies said.
Gonzalez, 26, and her passenger, 42-year-old Arthur Jewett, both of Trinity, declined treatment at the scene.
No charges have been filed. The investigation continues.
