Dig It,
No Sweat
True Temper's EZ Posthole Digger has a new, patent-pending blade design that's supposed to take some of the muscle out of digging a hole.
The S-shaped blades and pointed blade tips should make for easier slicing through dirt, and the large head provides extra scoopage.
It's available at Lowe's for $49.99.
Bag That
Problem
Even in Florida, eventually, leaves will fall. The new EZ Leaf Hauler promises to make bagging them a whole lot easier.
It's made like a tent, with shock-cord side poles that create sides and a back. Attached stakes can be pressed into the ground if it's windy. Just rake in up to five wheelbarrow loads (for the larger size hauler) and dump in the compost pile or put in garbage cans for the yard waste truck.
It comes in two sizes, 7 by 5 feet for large lots or a lot with lots of trees, and a 6-by-4-foot "sport" model. They're $29.99 and $25.99, respectively, at Urban Garden Center, www.urban gardencenter.com.
Individual
Serving Caulk
You could handle recaulking the bathtub or window frame, it's not that difficult, but having to buy a great big tube and caulking gun for one job seems like swatting a fly with a shotgun blast.
Caulk Singles is all about packaging: One job, one pouch. Done.
If you're replacing nasty caulk, like in the shower, scrape the old out, first. Then grab a pouch, tear it open and recaulk.
It's available at Lowe's, Ace Hardware and True Value for $1.99 to $2.99 per pack.
Take Her To The Dog Wash
If you dread doggie bath time, Hydrosurge RapidBath may be what you're looking for. Or not.
This hose attachment offers a massaging shampoo and rinse, all - according to press materials - in three minutes. You don't even have to scrub! (They say.)
OK, we all know that you'll have to do some scrubbing if you have a long-haired dog that's been rolling around in anything dogs like to roll around in. And you'll still have to corral said dog and remind it numerous times how much fun bath time is. RapidBath can't help with that.
But it may help. You can try it for $69.99 at PetSmart, plus $9.99 for packages of three shampoo cartridges.
