Regarding "A Nation's Reflections" (front page, Sept. 12):
As I prepared to go through security in the Kansas City International Airport, I was somewhat surprised to see the TSA agents close a glass door behind me, lock it and address the attention of myself and four others who had just had our IDs checked to a representative on the other side of the scanner. Gathered together were a group of TSA professionals, and I immediately realized it was time to remove my hat.
The stirring statement that was read on the anniversary of 9/11 about a moment of silence to be observed for the 3,000 who lost their lives on that day caught me completely off guard. I found myself weeping and still am as I type this in the terminal.
It is amazing how a little observance can remind an amnesiac nation of the events that occurred. Thank you, TSA.
