CLEARWATER - Police raided a suspected drug house and arrested four men as neighbors stood outside and cheered, police spokeswoman Elizabeth Daly-Watts said today.
Patrol officers and SWAT team members converged on the home at 1114 Palm Bluff St. about 5 p.m. Wednesday, Daly-Watts said. Carrying a search warrant, they entered the home and hauled out the four suspects along with two 9 mm handguns, a .38-caliber revolver, ammunition, about 3 grams of crack cocaine and 10 grams of marijuana, she said.
The home, in a neighborhood about a mile north of downtown, has been the source of many drug-activity complaints, Daly-Watts said. That prompted a special narcotics investigation.
Arrested at the home were: resident Terrence Thomas, 35, charged with two counts of sale of crack cocaine and three counts of possession of crack cocaine; Derrick Larkin, 30, of 1421 Barbara Ave., Clearwater, charged with possession of marijuana; Samuel Battles, 23, of 1521 Amberlea Drive N., Dunedin, charged with possession of marijuana; and Douglas Woods, 34, listed as a transient, charged with disorderly conduct.
